The works for the restoration of the Ethnographic Museum of Kruja have started through a fund of 500 thousand euros provided by the European Union.

Under the motto "Restore the Past, Build the Future", the first call for grant proposals for local economic development was published.

The EU will also provide 350 thousand euros for such projects.

Prime Minister Edi Rama, at the start of the works, said that they are working to transform the severe crisis caused by the earthquake.

Rama has invited all residents in historic areas everywhere in Albania to be involved in the project for local economic development.

The 350 thousand euro fund is part of a 1.3 million euro grant scheme that will be given to entities operating in the culture and creation sector, during the years 2022-2024.

The Ethnographic Museum of Kruja was damaged in the earthquake of November 26, 2019.

There was also damage to the main tower of the Kruja Castle, which is also being restored.
