More than 4.88 billion euros contracted in five Slavonian counties

The 20th session of the Council for Slavonia, Baranja and Srijem was held in Ilok.
 
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Croatian Veterans' Affairs Tomo Medved chaired the 20th session of the Council for Slavonia, Baranja and Srijem in Ilok today, at which he announced that as much as 4.88 billion euros have been contracted from available European funds in five Slavonian counties during the mandate of this Government.
Ahead of the Council session, 49 contracts and decisions on the allocation of grants worth a total of 30.1 million euros were presented for investment projects in firefighting, sports and social infrastructure, kindergartens, young farmers and adaptation to climate change in this area.
Minister of Regional Development and European Union Funds Nataša Mikuš Žigman, among others, presented four contracts from the ITU mechanism for the projects Sports and Recreation Center Antunovac, Sports-Green Čepin, Community Center in Nova Kapela and Reconstruction of the Open City Market in Vinkovci, worth a total of 10.2 million euros, of which 7.2 million euros are grants.
In addition, she presented eight decisions on the allocation of grants for the construction, reconstruction and renovation of fire stations in Kutjevo and the municipalities of Petrijevci, Klakar, Ivankovo, Trnava, Ernestinovo, Stara Gradiška and Špišić Bukovica. These projects are worth a total of 10.3 million euros, of which 8.5 million euros are grants.
 
EU Multiannual Financial Framework – Opportunities for a Stronger and More Innovative Croatia
At the Council session, Minister Mikuš Žigman and Deputy Prime Minister and State Secretary at the Ministry of Finance Stipe Župan presented the new Multiannual Financial Framework of the European Union for the period from 2028 to 2034. Minister Mikuš Žigman pointed out that an envelope of 16.8 billion euros has been proposed for Croatia, and that we will plan the available funds within a single National and Regional Partnership Plan, which will address our national priorities within common European goals.
 
Presentations on departmental activities and investments were also given by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries David Vlajčić and Minister of Demography and Immigration Ivan Šipić.
Previous sessions of the Council were held in Osijek, Požega, Slavonski Brod, Virovitica, Vinkovci, Beli Manastir, Pakrac, Nova Gradiška, Orahovica, Vukovar, Našice, Pleternica, Okučani, Pitomača, Otok, Đakovo, Jakšić, Slavonski Šamac and Slatina, and the next one will be held in Donji Miholjac in Osijek-Baranja County.
