EU-Seco, through the IMF, Albania support for income administration, public finance management and tax policies, for the period 2023-2026
The European Union and the Government of Switzerland, through technical assistance from the IMF, will support Albania for the period 2023-2026 in terms of areas of income administration, public finance management and tax policies.
The support for this period was confirmed at the annual coordination meeting that the IMF organized on June 27-28 in Bern, Switzerland, in the framework of the implementation of the capacity development program, which is supported by the European Union and the Swiss Government for support in countries Southeast Europe. Albania was represented at this meeting with a delegation, headed by Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy, Adela Xhemali.
During this meeting they discussed the achievements that the Government of Albania made through the support provided under this project and analyzed future support needs.
The European Union and the Swiss government, through technical assistance from the International Monetary Fund, has assisted Albania in two areas: income administration and public finance management.
Considering the importance of these reforms, it was possible to postpone support for another phase for the period 2023-2026, including a third component, that of tax policy issues.
