Contracts for 10 new cross-border projects were handed over in Osijek

Projects from the Hungary-Croatia Interreg Programme are worth a total of EUR 4.9 million in EU funds.
State Secretary at the Ministry of Regional Development and European Union Funds Domagoj Mikulić presented contracts worth EUR 4.9 million in EU funds in Osijek for 10 new projects from the Hungary-Croatia Interreg Programme, in which the lead partners are from Osijek-Baranja County. The awarding of contracts was also attended by the County Mayor of Osijek-Baranja, Nataša Tramišak.

The contracts were awarded to the company Unikom d.o.o., the Faculty of Food Technology and the Faculty of Agrobiotechnical Sciences of the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, the municipalities of Kneževi Vinogradi and Bilje, DKolectiv - an organization for social development, and the Association for the Protection of Nature and the Environment Zeleni Osijek.

Through this cross-border cooperation, 280 projects worth a total of EUR 115 million have been implemented in previous periods, and in the current period the allocation amounts to EUR 58 million. A total of 52 projects were selected for financing, and four strategic projects aimed at the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, energy renovation, the fight against mosquitoes and the development of tourist and cycling infrastructure were also contracted.
