Co-financing of four operations of strategic importance approved under the Interreg Programme Hungary-Croatia 2021-2027.

At the 4th meeting of the Monitoring Committee of the Interreg Programme Hungary - Croatia 2021-2027, held on 15 April 2025, the co-financing of four operations of strategic importance with a total value of EUR 10.92 million from the European Regional Development Fund was approved.
The operations of strategic importance are aimed at supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, energy, environmental protection and the fight against climate change, and the development of tourism.
A total of 19 Croatian and 12 Hungarian project partners are participating in the four approved operations of strategic importance.
The two approved operations of strategic importance have a Croatian lead partner, who plays a key role in the design and coordination of the entire project and guides the partnership towards achieving its goals.
The following operations of strategic importance have been approved:
- B Light 2 - Fostering cross-border business cooperation of SMEs operating on different sides of the Hungary-Croatia border (acronym: B Light 2)
- Fostering ground source geothermal energy based energy refurbishments in the border area (acronym: GeoBuilding)
- Establishing Center for Mosquito Control (CMC), cross-border integrated protocols and cooperation to fight climate change induced mosquito infestation in the Croatia-Hungary border area (acronym: MOSQUITOLAB)
- Amazon of Europe Bike Trail Hungary-Croatia - Better integration of local touristic services into the transnational tourism product “Amazon of Europe Bike Trail" (acronym: Amazon of Europe BT HU-HR)
