Approved Standard projects within the 3rd Call of the Interreg Italy-Croatia Programme 2021-2027. 

Croatian partners are participating in 24 approved projects, through which they have secured EUR 14.94 million in funds from the European Regional Development Fund. 

At the 11th meeting of the Monitoring Committee of the Interreg Italy-Croatia Programme 2021-2027, held on 26 May 2026 in Ancona, co-financing of 24 Standard projects in the total amount of EUR 30,741,858.19 from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) was approved. 

A total of 74 Croatian and 78 Italian project partners are participating in the 24 approved projects. The total value of approved ERDF funds for Croatian project partners is EUR 14,937,355.83. 

Nine projects have a Croatian lead partner, who plays a key role in the design and coordination of the entire project and guides the partnership towards achieving its goals. 

The majority of projects were approved under Specific Objective (SO) 4.1. (Strengthening the role of culture and sustainable tourism in economic development, social inclusion and social innovation) and SO 5.1. (Other actions to support better cooperation governance), under which 6 projects were approved each. 

Under SO 2.1. (Promoting climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction and resilience, taking into account ecosystem-based approaches) and SO 2.2. (Strengthening the protection and conservation of nature, biodiversity and green infrastructure, including in urban areas, and reducing all forms of pollution), 4 projects were approved. 

Under SO 1.1. (Developing and strengthening research and innovation capacities and the application of advanced technologies) and SO 3.1. (Developing and strengthening sustainable, smart and intermodal national, regional and local mobility that is resilient to climate change, including by improving access to the TEN-T network and cross-border mobility), 2 projects were approved each.

Also, the Annual Event of the Interreg Italy-Croatia 2021-2027 Programme, Youth4Sea, was held in Ancona on 25 May 2026. The event brought together more than 200 participants, including institutional representatives, organizations and individuals working with youth. 

The event was centered around panels dedicated to discussions on the experiences and opportunities for involving young people in policy-making, with a focus on the next financial period. 

A special part of the event was dedicated to the ceremonial awarding of awards to two schools and students from Italy and Croatia who participated in the ASOC project in the 2025/2026 school year. The winning schools are the Dante Alighieri High School from Gorizia (Italy) and the Vela Luka High School (Croatia). 

The ASOC (At the School of Open Cohesion) project is dedicated to educating students about the principles of cohesion policy and citizen monitoring of public spending.
