Approved projects within the 4th call of the Interreg Transnational Cooperation Program Central Europe 2021-2027.
Croatian partners are participating in 12 approved projects with a total of 17 contracts, through which they secured EUR 1.86 million in funds from the European Regional Development Fund.
At a meeting held on 21 May 2026 in Prague, the Monitoring Committee of the Transnational Cooperation Programme Central Europe 2021-2027 approved projects from the 4th strategic capitalisation call for project proposals. 25 new transnational cooperation projects were approved for funding, with a total value of EUR 23.2 million in funds from the European Regional Development Fund.
The programme under the European Territorial Cooperation objective supports cooperation between nine Central European countries: Croatia, Austria, the Czech Republic, Italy, Hungary, Germany, Poland, Slovenia and Slovakia.
The fourth call focused on strategic capitalisation projects, i.e. on strengthening the impact of existing Interreg project results with the aim of contributing to reducing the negative effects of borders on flows and functional links in Central Europe and strengthening the competitiveness and resilience of the programme area.
The largest number of projects were financed through Specific Objective 1.1. Strengthening innovation capacities in Central Europe, under which 7 projects were approved, and Specific Objective 2.1. Supporting the energy transition towards a climate-neutral Central Europe, under which 5 projects were approved.
Croatian partners are participating in 12 approved projects with a total of 17 contracts, through which they have secured EUR 1.86 million in funding from the European Regional Development Fund. They are mostly participating in projects related to the energy transition towards a climate-neutral Central Europe, within which 6 contracts have been achieved. Croatian partners are also participating in projects related to strengthening governance for integrated territorial development, improving transport connectivity of rural and peripheral areas, advancing the circular economy and greening urban mobility in Central Europe.
