3.36 million euros awarded from the ITU mechanism for new buses and digitalization of public bus transport in Dubrovnik

The imminent start of work on the project "Park'n'Ride" has been announced.
State Secretary in charge of the Ministry of Regional Development and European Union Funds Zrinka Raguž, Deputy Mayor of Dubrovnik and ITU Head Jelka Tepšić, and Director of JGP Libertas Dubrovnik Franko Mekišić signed the Grant Agreement for the project co-financed from the "Integrated Territorial Program" in the amount of 3,361,193.99 euros.
The grant funds finance the purchase of buses and equipment as part of the Electrification and Digitalization of Public Bus Transport project, and represent 85% of the total eligible project costs, while the remaining co-financing will be provided by Libertas.
In addition to the purchase of two twelve-meter electric buses, the project also includes the construction of a transformer station, a photovoltaic power plant, a battery storage tank, and the purchase of two chargers and accompanying applications. The remaining 12 electric low-floor buses for urban transport will be acquired by Libertas by applying for a tender from the relevant ministry worth 8.4 million euros.
“The Dubrovnik ITU area is among the best cities in Croatia in using funds from the current envelope. Out of a total of 22 million euros, as much as 13.9 million euros have been realized, and in addition to the project for which we signed the contract today, projects for a network of green infrastructure for city parks have also begun, and work on the Park'n'Ride project is expected to begin soon,” said State Secretary Raguž during the signing of the contract.
