10 new contracts worth more than 35 million euros awarded for the renovation of public cultural infrastructure

Minister of Culture and Media Nina Obuljen Koržinek, State Secretary in charge of the Ministry of Regional Development and European Union Funds Zrinka Raguž and Director of the Central Agency for Financing and Contracting of Programmes and Projects of the European Union Dragan Jelić have awarded 10 contracts worth a total of more than 35 million euros for the renovation of public cultural infrastructure.

These are new contracts for culture from the current EU financial envelope, and the purpose of these investments is to increase accessibility and participation in cultural life for all citizens, especially members of vulnerable groups, and to create the prerequisites for the development of innovative services in culture. Earlier, 10 contracts worth more than 29 million euros were awarded under the same call.

"With the contracts awarded today, we have used almost all the funds available from this call, namely 70 million euros, which will be invested throughout Croatia in cultural centers, cultural heritage interpretation, museums, old towns, libraries and reading rooms. This is, therefore, a wide range of projects that will bring new, more innovative and, above all, more accessible cultural content, thereby raising the level of public services and the quality of life in our cities and municipalities," said State Secretary Raguž, recalling that more than 200 million euros have been secured for investments in culture from the ITU mechanism.
